Atomate launches the product line of components for nanostructure synthesis

Santa Barbara, CA - September 1, 2003 - Atomate Corporation today announced the launch of 4 new products developed specifically for optimizing the synthesis of nanostructures by the chemical vapor deposition [CVD] method.

These new products solve some of the most frustrating problems encountered today by nanotechnology researchers. This product line consists of patent-pending components and kits that improve control of synthesis variables and reduce the possibility of a dangerous situation by minimizing the potential for combustible gas leaks. Other products reduce hysteresis and contamination concerns in the delivery of feedstock gases. All products are designed to easily integrate with existing CVD systems.

The science and engineering staff at Atomate has met with a number of researchers in the field to identify the most problematic areas in the synthesis of nanotubes and nanowires. "We have spent a lot of time with a number of scientists, some world renowned researchers and many others just starting to explore this field," said Brian Lim, CEO and Founder of Atomate Corporation. "Our customers have been very frustrated by the lack of commercial equipment that addresses the specific needs of nanostructure synthesis research. Our team is dedicated to developing products that fill these needs and help our customers achieve their goals."

The following products are available for immediate delivery:

LeakProof Seals: Patent-pending vacuum actuated seal that creates a LeakProof interface between quartz tubes and metal fittings used in CVD systems. This product features Sure-Seal Indicator that provides a positive visual verification of a LeakProof seal between interfaces.

Gas Manifold: Unique manifold design with very short gas paths and check valves that limit hysteresis and contamination.

Controller Platform: Simple but effective platform for mounting mass flow controllers and the feedstock gas tubing

Leak Detection Kit: Combustible gas detectors and other tools for finding leaks in a system. This kit can reduce the potential for creating a dangerous situation and improve synthesis repeatability.

About Atomate Corporation:

Atomate Corporation develops critical components, materials, and systems optimized for the synthesis of nanostructures. The Atomate team is dedicated to working closely with customers to supply products that solve problems efficiently and economically. Atomate has a solution for researchers who desire enhancements to existing systems and for those who want to build or buy a new system. Atomate's mission is to develop products that enable the customer to focus their efforts on the science, not on engineering of equipment.
